We’re delighted that our Organic Damson Cordial has been awarded 2 stars at the Great Taste Awards 2026.
The judges were particularly impressed by its rich colour, distinctive damson character and beautifully balanced flavour. Their tasting notes capture exactly what we love about this cordial:
“A rich jewel like red with a delightful damson aroma.”
They praised the cordial both neat and diluted, noting its full flavour, refreshing character and versatility. They also highlighted the balance between the natural acidity of the damsons and the sweetness:
“We enjoyed the acidity – so perfectly balanced and in harmony with the sugar.”
And perhaps our favourite description of all:
“This is autumn in a glass.”
The judges went on to describe the cordial as having a glossy dark violet colour with soft plummy notes, while appreciating the beautiful tannin from the damson skin alongside the fleshy fruit flavour. They could imagine it enjoyed in many different ways, from a refreshing drink to being drizzled over ice cream.
Their final tasting note beautifully sums up the experience:
“We can almost imagine biting into a ripe damson.”
I’m incredibly proud of this recognition. Our Organic Damson Cordial is made to capture the character of this wonderful, often-overlooked fruit, and it’s fantastic to know that the Great Taste judges appreciated its depth, balance and versatility.
